Fresh Meals on Wheels of Sheboygan County

Fresh Meals on Wheels of Sheboygan County aids in helping our senior, disabled and homebound Sheboygan County neighbors remain independent and stay safely in the homes they love by providing fresh, nutritious, homemade meals and daily wellness checks.

The organization serves people who need meals for as little as two weeks while recovering from an illness, injury or surgery, or to those with ongoing needs, many of whom have received meals for years.

The Christopher Farm and Gardens has strengthened their partnership with Fresh Meals on Wheels  through donations, serving opportunities, sponsorship, and the ability to host large fundraising events in the gardens. To learn more or to donate to this cause, please visit : Fresh Meals on Wheels of Sheboygan County

June-A-Palooza
The Christopher Farm and Gardens is a proud annual host of June-A-Palooza, one of Fresh Meals on Wheels' largest fundraisers. The theme of the 2024 event is "A Parisian Experience" and encourages guests to join for a promenade through la crème de la crème of gardens as you devour French cuisine, enjoy timeless sophistication of French culture – with a touch of Olympic spirit – while you sow the seeds of positive impact in our community.

Christopher Farm & Garden Produce Donation
It is a frequent question to be heard among visitors of the gardens - "What do you do with all of the produce you grow?" Though we enjoy some of it fresh amongst staff, process and utilize it in our canning kitchen, and give to family and friends, we are proud to say that a lot of the produce grown at The Christopher Farm & Gardens is donated to Fresh Meals on Wheels to be used in their daily operation. Ranging from apples, cherries, pears, and plums; to tomatoes, peppers, beans and squash, the 2023 Farm harvest yielded roughly 1,000 pounds of fresh produce donations to be used in meals for clients throughout Sheboygan County.

St. Nick's Celebration
Starting in 2014, The Christopher Farm and Gardens has sponsored the St. Nick's Celebration annually at Fresh Meals on Wheels of Sheboygan County. The Celebration is a wonderful opportunity for clients to experience a deliciously prepared coursed-meal crafted by prominent local chef Paul Smitala and his wife Lori Smitala, listen to live holiday music, and experience the warmth of community. Along with staff members from Greenscape Lawn & Landscape, staff from The Christopher Farm and Gardens dress in their serving best and help to make the day special for all.

Christopher Farm & Gardens Weekly Delivery Route
The staff at The Christopher Farm & Gardens has recently taken an official weekly route to deliver meals to Fresh Meals on Wheels' clients. This opportunity is fantastic for our staff and helps us to give back, learn more about the organization, and get involved with the local community through the work of our dedicated community partner.
